Signal Fire

And we sat on fields of green,
And watched them storm the beach like it was Normandy
And you smiled, it was poetry
We picked daisies and danced, it was a beautiful day

And we drive along the coast
Singing songs that we love the most
Oh, the beats our hearts compose
We were counting the stars that were ours, it was a beautiful day

Now you've gone so far away
I've got staring out my window pain
It won't be long before these embers turn to flames
And hopefully the rain won't wash away
Only my signal fire's to blame
Only my signal fire's to blame

And I'm counting the miles to the county line
And you're counting the pedals on the asters
I wanna know if I were to go tumbling down,
Would you come tumbling after, and make our way home

Now you've gone so far away
I've got staring out my window pain
It won't be long before these embers turn to flames
And hopefully the rain won't wash away
Only my signal fire's to blame
Only my signal fire's to blame
Only my signal fire's to blame
